Grit and salt is often put down on paths and roads during the winter and this can cause problems for your pet. Grit and salt can irritate paws and after walking through treated areas, some pets will try to lick the grit and salt off paws. This can lead to diarrhoea, vomiting and lethargy. We advise rinsing dog’s paws after winter walks and watch for signs of excessive paw licking.
